Why I started Dear College Counselor

When I first started working in college admissions, I thought my job was helping students get into college.

Over time, I realized the hardest part wasn't getting accepted.

It was helping students figure out what they actually want, figure out who they are, how to understand their options, and actually feel confident in the choices they were making.

After nearly 2 decades working in admissions, academic advising, and financial aid, I created Dear College Counselor because I believe families deserve more than application advice.

They deserve a trusted guide who will simplify what feels overwhelming, help them focus on what actually matters, and make thoughtful decisions with confidence.

Because I truly believe getting into college is only the beginning.
